BIRKAN GmbH is one of the oldest graphical stockists in Germany. It was founded in 1924 as a distributor of printing blankets, under the name Birkner & Kandlbinder OHG, with its own patent for Triumph rubber printing blankets ‒ revolutionary technology at the time. BIRKAN continues to enjoy success with its offset printing blankets, produced in-house and exported to over 100 countries worldwide. BIRKAN carries a comprehensive range of printing blankets to meet different quality requirements, suitable not only for common offset applications but also for specialised requirements in plastics, metal and intaglio printing. Our range also includes underpacking materials (sheets, foils, press boards and blankets) and measuring equipment. Our extensive inventory allows us to deliver promptly around the world. As a special service, BIRKAN also provides the option of a commissioning warehouse. A new branch of the company ‒ direct laser engraving ‒ is devoted to manufacturing elastomer printing plates.

Since 2009, we have been supplying international companies and corporations from a diverse range of sectors. Individual customer solutions such as special shapes, specified sizes or even engravings on the film surfaces (serial numbers, customer logos, inventory numbers) are our speciality. However, we currently (dated March 2018) maintain a database of more than 25, 000 models: From the standard size to custom-fit sizes for mobile phones, tablets, cameras, laptops, etc. all the way to really big flatscreen televisions up to 50" diagonally across. We can also offer display protection films for harsh industrial uses up to a size of 50". As a company certified in accordance with DIN ISO9001: 2015, we understand our customers' needs. We are by your side as partners, with all the advice you need to hand; not only when all you need is a protective film but we can also assist on the subject of OEM/ODM and present you with a perfect end result.

Our corporate activity is based on applicable legal and ethical standards, with a particular emphasis on the well-being of our employees. In addition, we strive to protect the environment. The operation of our systems is inspected in line with legal provisions. We only use raw materials which are pre-registered or have already been registered. The same applies for our foils from sites outside the European Union. The foils themselves are classed as products in line with EU Regulation 1907/2006 dated 18th December 2006 and are not subject to mandatory registration. Our foils are primarily produced in Germany. For foils produced outside of Germany, we take care to ensure the same high standard of quality for raw materials and manufacturers.
